And she paints from her right brain – so intuitive and imaginative. She’s so great for all of us!

Amid the grumblings of its difficulty, she made a new painting. And we all learned that hollyhock is rose trémière, funnel rose. We are a bunch of francophiles and we have fun!

It’s really fun to see how she’s taking it in places I wouldn’t. She started it at a Jeanne Vodden workshop. Jeanne works with a limited palette of three colors. Very luminous – love how she’s playing with the color.

Before taking a two-month break from us to move, we got to see this piece all done. It’s beautiful.

Painting squares all around!

After I watched Robin and Susie painting the color charts, I was struck by two things, how I remembered wanting to do something else by painting squares when I’d done my color chart years ago, and by how much FUN they (especially Robin) were having! So I began the painting I call Blossom Squares. The next week almost the whole group said they wanted to try too. Here’s Susie’s piece. She’s painting from the same image as I and by this we can really see how differently we all paint.

She has a huge collection of watercolor paints. To know what she has, she made these. Not only are the useful, they are so beautiful!
